Steel

Why

Despite significant greenhouse gas emissions from steel companies like POSCO, regulations remain lax, and the transition to green steel is slow. The government's and companies' attitudes have not shifted quickly enough, leading to stagnant carbon emissions. This raises concerns about losing industrial competitiveness amid growing international carbon regulations.

Goal

We aim to significantly reduce carbon emissions in the steel industry through the phased closure of blast furnaces and the transition to hydrogen-based steel production. By doing so, we hope to contribute to achieving the international community’s goal of limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
