Climate Finance

Introduction

At SFOC, we are working to make it riskier for the financial industry to continue supporting fossil fuels. We are doing this by educating the public and advocating for stronger financial regulation. We are also talking to banks, insurance companies, and institutional investors, to advocate for more sustainable finance policies.

Forests & Land Use

Introduction

We aim to reduce our demand for forestry and agricultural commodities that are linked to deforestation which worsens climate change and threatens local communities. Our work involves media and public campaigns to end government support and corporate activities that favor large-scale bioenergy over genuine renewables.

At SFOC, we aim to put an end to the biggest sources of public financing towards oil and gas. To make this happen, we partner with key stakeholders, such as policymakers, businesses and civil society organizations worldwide. Together, we are working to stop the expansion of oil and gas, as well as the build-out of fossil fuel infrastructure, including LNG carriers, terminals and plants.

Shipping

Introduction

We aim to accelerate the decarbonization of South Korea's shipping industry by halting the use and investment in fossil fuels for ships, improving policies for the adoption of green fuels, and strengthening public-private cooperation. We expand discussions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout the entire shipping lifecycle—including production, transportation, and combustion of fuels—in line with international standards.
