Kairi Nakayama is part of SFOC’s Diplomacy Team, where she focuses on strengthening the organisation’s presence in Japan and reinforcing the foundations for regional and international climate cooperation. She holds a BSc in Geography and a Master’s degree in International Development and Planning from the University of Otago, where her dissertation examined the climate, health, and social implications of transport for young children. Prior to joining SFOC, she worked across two central government agencies in New Zealand, contributing to domestic policy processes and cross-government coordination, bringing a strong foundation in public sector systems and institutional governance that supports her work in climate diplomacy.

We understand that climate change knows no borders. Through networking and collaboration, we work with global environmental organizations to promote change at the international level.
