Introduction  

Solutions for Our Climate (SFOC) is seeking an Intern. SFOC is an independent policy research and advocacy group that aims to make emissions trajectories across Asia compatible with the Paris Agreement 1.5°C warming target. SFOC is led by legal, economic, financial, and environmental experts with experience in energy and climate policy. Since its founding in 2016, SFOC has led strategic campaigns on coal power phase-out, renewables, and climate finance. More recently, we have expanded our work beyond the power sector, establishing oil and gas, legal, steel, land-use, methane, and maritime transportation programs. SFOC’s effectiveness comes from its extensive digital and media communication, legal strategy, political and diplomatic network, and leadership among grassroots campaigns. 

Responsibilities 

Support the planning and logistics of SFOC events

Engage with both national and international stakeholders (corporates, vendors, NGOs, research institutes etc.)

Assist in research related to diverse thematic areas within decarbonization

Collect and translate domestic and international news (Korean, English)

Assist in Korean - English/English - Korean translation and interpretation

Support SFOC tasks, as needed

Requirements  

Fluency in both English and Korean (bilingual, both written and spoken)  

Planning, organization, and communication skills

Self-Development and Learning Willingness

Interest in greenhouse gas emissions, decarbonization, climate, environment, and energy issues  

Preferred qualifications  

Work experience in event management and/or research experience in climate, energy, or environment a plus
