Industry Team Intern (3-6 months)

Introduction  

Solutions for Our Climate (SFOC) is seeking an Intern within the Industry Team. SFOC is an independent policy research and advocacy group that aims to make emissions trajectories across Asia compatible with the Paris Agreement 1.5°C warming target. SFOC is led by legal, economic, financial, and environmental experts with experience in energy and climate policy. Since its founding in 2016, SFOC has led strategic campaigns on coal power phase-out, renewables, and climate finance. More recently, we have expanded our work beyond the power sector, establishing oil and gas, legal, steel, land-use, methane, and maritime transportation programs. SFOC’s effectiveness comes from its extensive digital and media communication, legal strategy, political and diplomatic network, and leadership among grassroots campaigns. 

Through collaboration with domestic and foreign companies, academia, and civil society, the SFOC industry team conducts research and launches campaigns to induce structural changes toward decarbonising the industrial sectors of steel, shipping, and tackle methane emissions in the energy sector.  

Responsibilities 

Support the planning and logistics of Industry team events

Engage with both national and international stakeholders (corporates, vendors, NGOs, research institutes etc.)

Assist in research related to diverse thematic areas within industrial decarbonization

Assist in Korean-English/English-Korean translation and interpretation

Support other Industry team tasks, as needed

Requirements  

Fluency in both English and Korean (both written and spoken)  

Planning, organization, and communication skills

Interest in industrial emissions, decarbonization, climate, environment, and energy issues  

Preferred qualifications  

Work experience in event management and/or research experience in climate, energy, or environment a plus
