Elisa Leys works in SFOC's Gas Team and focuses on Japan's public financing for fossil fuels and their alternatives. Elisa holds an MSc in International Politics from Ghent University and an MA in Environment, Development and Policy from Sussex University. Before joining SFOC, she spent time researching mini grid development in East and West Africa and worked in the Japanese renewable energy field, working on projects ranging from solar sharing to Sustainable Aviation Fuels and solar panel safety systems.
We conduct in-depth analysis of climate, energy, industrial, and economic policies to propose viable policy alternatives and help bring about real policy change.
We hold corporations and governments accountable when they delay climate action, utilizing a range of legal strategies, including litigation, to drive policy improvement.
