Ahead of April’s First Conference on Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels (TAFF), this initial discussion will make the case for accelerated decarbonization across the Asian region, highlighting often overlooked socioeconomic risks, barriers and opportunities influencing progress on widespread renewable energy phase-in. Panelists will share regional insights on how the TAFF could reshape global efforts towards a full fossil fuel phaseout, examining potential pathways to enhancing Asia’s mitigation and adaptation capacity while ensuring a just energy transition for all. Presentations will be followed by a short Q & A session.
