Introduction

Solutions for Our Climate (SFOC) is a nonprofit organization established in 2016 to address the social and environmental impacts of climate change. We conduct research on solutions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and expanding renewables, and coordinate campaigns with both domestic and international organizations to address the climate crisis. SFOC works in various fields not limited to energy, industry, finance, and forestry.

We are seeking researchers for the coal and gas power teams. Moving away from fossil fuel generation is the first step needed to achieve carbon neutrality and combat climate crisis. Our coal team advocates for a 2030 coal phase out, and our gas team builds leads the efforts to minimize -. You can indicate your preferred focus in your application.

 

Key responsibilities 

-       Conduct research on fossil fuel phase out and energy transition policies.

-       Monitor, analyze, and evaluate policies, initiatives and new developments around coal and gas power issues.

-       Draft advocacy materials and policy briefs.

-       Collaborate and network with partner organizations, both domestic and international.

-       Provide data/materials for fossil fuel phase-out campaigns 

 

Qualifications

-       Strong passion and interest for climate and energy transition topics.

-       No experience required but a plus if the applicant has experience from think tanks, NGOs, or research institutions.

-       Able to write documents and conduct meetings in Korean is a plus but not a requirement.
