What’s important for COP28?

"This year’s UNFCCC Conference of the Parties is a critical moment to accelerate the global energy transition for a sustainable and just future. As country leaders gather to discuss ways to keep 1.5°C alive, they need to prioritize a fast and equitable transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy

COP28 will be a testbed for how each country lays out a roadmap for global renewables deployment. Beyond words, we need to ensure that governments will implement policies and dedicate financing to make this change happen. This means promoting a fair power market, investing in necessary infrastructure, and redirecting financing from fossil fuels to renewable energy projects. The real work begins after COP28."

- Joojin Kim, CEO of Solutions for Our Climate (SFOC)

Key topics that SFOC will be following closely:

1. Renewables

2. Fossil fuels
