As a research associate in the industry team, Hayoung aims to develop a policy framework for reducing methane emissions in the domestic energy, agriculture, and waste sectors. She is also particularly invested in achieving climate justice for marginalized communities that are most at risk from the effects of climate change. She earned a BA degree in political science from Lawrence University in Wisconsin and went on to study Chinese environmental policies for her MA degree as a full scholarship student at Peking University in China. Before joining SFOC, Hayoung worked as a strategy consultant for KPMG. Her goal at SFOC is to provide practical solutions to global warming through her research on climate solutions across political, economic, and societal dimensions.
