Introduction
Solutions for Our Climate (SFOC) is an independent policy research and advocacy group that aims to make emissions trajectories across Asia compatible with the Paris Agreement 1.5°C warming target. SFOC is led by legal, economic, financial, and environmental experts with experience in energy and climate policy.
Since its founding in 2016, SFOC has led strategic campaigns on coal power phase-out, renewables, and climate finance. More recently, we have expanded our work beyond the power sector, establishing oil and gas, legal, steel, land-use, methane, and maritime transportation programs. SFOC’s effectiveness comes from its extensive digital and media communication, legal strategy, political and diplomatic network, and leadership among grassroots campaigns.
Job Description
SFOC designs campaign strategies across the Asia-Pacific region to accelerate energy transition and raise climate ambition. We are seeking an Associate who can support our grants team and strategic planning across our programs, communicating our initiatives internally and externally.
The ideal candidate has grant writing and/or fundraising experience, exposure to nonprofit and/or philanthropic organizations, excellent communication skills, and passion to address climate change.
The Strategy & Development Associate will support the Strategy & Development team with the following:
Responsibilities
- Working with program leads to draft grant proposals and report on progress toward campaign objectives
- Collaborating with program teams to communicate their work effectively to funders
- Assisting with organization-wide strategic planning tasks
- Developing strategies with relevant program teams
- Identifying potential partners and conducting outreach on joint activities
- Coordinating events to support programmatic sharing and development
- Managing relationships with funders and partners
- Working with leadership to build new programs for impact

Requirements
- Language skills:
- Exceptional English writing and verbal communication skills
- Korean: Fluent or full professional working proficiency
- More than 12 months of related work experience
- Passion for climate action and justice
Preferred qualifications
- Grant writing, fundraising, marketing, or business development experience
- Exposure to nonprofits and/or philanthropic organizations
- Experience engaging with or guiding senior-level stakeholders in meetings or events
- Experience with CRM software
- Background in climate and/or energy, industry, or finance
